“With our thoughts we make the world.” — Buddha
I have been struggling with a breakthrough concept.
I know it is true. I know it can help save my life.
From the moment I wake up, I start planning my day.
Sometimes it’s me, many times it is my lower egoic mind running wild.
That mind is constantly trying to make meaning out of my life events.
Its hodgepodge conclusions are incomplete and usually fear based.
Realizing how narrow and confining the egoic mind is, I started taking new actions.
My life has always been an experiment and I just upgraded my mental laboratory!
Using psychological and physiological strategies I can re-wire my brain.
Resistance still comes from previous habit patterns. It’s not magic, it is science.
I replaced my old morning habits of receiving dictation from my lower mind.
Instead, I do the goal setting. I act on my plan. Life is so much better.
Inner restless and mental chatter can distract me.
Determination, willpower, technique, and encouraging fellowship frees me.
I use the imagery of my imagination to create new behaviors and outcomes.
It is a vivid deployment of the science of neuroplasticity being used to my advantage.
Mental imagery empowered by positive emotions activate my immune system and
gene expressions to promote health and healing. It brings a sustainable future I love & need.
Positive emotions are the secret sauce! An attitude of gratitude is essential.
Thankfulness, reverence, joy, love, enthusiasm, and courage unleash the power
to feel and experience my new manifesting reality.
Thankfulness births a wish-fulfilled state of joy and celebration!!!
I create this every day and throughout the day…as best I can.
The diminution of my cancer cells and the increased calcification of old problem spots
I attribute to this mind-body therapy alongside chemo, radiation, meditation and nutrition.
Posters, songs, artwork, and sticky notes on my desk help me remember my future.
Willpower and determination are key ingredients to my success.
Rehearsing the future is real.
My experiments with this breakthrough concept are happening daily.
Rehearsing images and scenarios of actions and outcomes I need is my playground.
I avoid doubt and despair. Sadness or greed. Revenge and rage.
They will never bring a sustainable future.
Instead of being a victim of “cause and effect,” I have moved into the active role
of “causing the effect!” that I want in my life.
Until recent, this was a totally unknown concept to me.
I pull my new future into the present moment by constantly remembering it.
It takes a few seconds. It keeps me on track. It keeps my mind in check.
Rinse and Repeat sets the Beat!
I rinse off yesterday as I repeat my decisions for today.
When in Doubt, Get Out!
This adage from my days as a volunteer fireman I now use as my ‘nature cure.’
When I get lost in my mind, I get out.
I get outside. I walk. I swim. I sing. I draw. Soon, we will kayak.
My undergraduate degree in outdoor education is from the I.U. School of Recreation.
What a great word – ‘re-create!’ Nature, art, music, and love all awakens my creativity.
To be curious. To be creative. To immerse myself in the creative wonders of nature.
My intellect may never understand how much the outside world nourishes me.
Illness is my latest invitation to live my life fully on my terms.
I am so thankful it has brought out the original Blair (OB1).
Nothing is ever only in the mind;
It is also never only in the body.
Love,
Blair
